Zilker Park and Camp Lucy

What a fun weekend. Really. Friday afternoon Bennett surprised us, finished working early, and suggested we all go to Zilker Park. Fields of grass, as far as little Davis's eyes could see, and all he wanted to do was stand on the one man hole and listen to the noise it made while he stomped back and forth. We finally lured him away when we saw this young guy with a remote control car. The thing was crazy- it could go 50 miles per hour- and the guy was very skilled at making it flip and things. Davis could not get enough. He loved watching it, but then when the guy would drive it right up to Davis, he just wasn't sure how he felt about it.

We had a great afternoon, and then that evening we went to a new butcher in Westlake and picked out some really tasty meat and sides. Bennett cooked it up- and we enjoyed it with some really nice wine. At home date night.

Saturday we went to a wedding at Camp Lucy- maybe the most gorgeous wedding venue I've ever seen. It's on a ranch out near Dripping Springs and the owner, Whit Hanks, imported old churches from Vietnam that are built in the French colonial style and re-built them there. Gorgeous. And our friend Courtney, who got married, is a wedding planner, so every detail was amazing. The wedding was outside, she pulled up with her dad in a vintage Rolls Royce, and then after the ceremony there was croquet and bocci on the lawn before the dinner and dancing. It was an amazing event and it was so fun to have Bennett as my date and all of our best friends there celebrating.

Today was great too. We slept in, then took naps, then went and did a little shopping for some upcoming birthdays. We were going to get Davis his first haircut- and then- they were closed. :( It was such a fun weekend though. I am LOVING this age with Davis. He is so funny and so much fun. He loves to stomp wildly and then he giggles his head off. He is just a joyful little ball of laughs. And I know that with each stage, I have said I like the current one the best, but I really think I am a toddler person moreso than a baby person. Toddlers are just too fun.

Anyway- I wanted to remember this weekend- so thought I would post it here.
Hope everyone else has a great weekend too.

Upcoming fun things:
- Easter!
- Davis' dedication in May (finally! yes!)
- A little Texas beach vacation
- I've booked some speaking events in the Austin area. Yahoo.
