So I bought Davis this cute little batmobile car that revs up and says "TO THE BAT CAVE!" and then charges across the floor...thought he would love it. He is TERRIFIED by it. It scared him for hours. Seriously- I showed it to him- tried to get him to warm up to it by giving it some time and then bringing it out again over the course of the day...but everytime he saw it he would just panic. For the rest of the afternoon on Saturday, each time he even heard a noise (a sneeze, a door shutting, pico, etc) he would scramble over and jump into my lap because of that little car. Poor guy.
Separately, a lot has been going on...here is an attempt to capture these things, with a few pictures for illustration.
1) Davis competed in the Tough Mudder- said it wasn't really all that tough.
2) We went to the Austin Modern Home Tour to see the Michael Hsu house furnished by Red (for more details, see evolving eloise).
3) I pulled Davis' wagon halfway across our neighborhood to check out the elementary school playground. Turns out there isn't one- so we just stopped and played in the grass. He thought it was the bees knees.
4) Davis is experiencing his first wave of separation anxiety. Never expected that. He cried the whole way through Sunday school on Sunday. Poor guy.
5) Bennett and I are going to start volunteering at our church nursery on Sundays.
6) Davis has expanded his diet- just slightly. He now likes cheese and cold cuts. Oh and hamburger meat.
7) Davis is really into putting things into other things and then taking them back out. He also is playing with cars all the time now- it's eclipsed his time spent reading. He makes a lot car noise when he pushes them all around.
8) He was so thrilled to see Honey at the home tour last weekend. It was sort of like "Oh- I know you. What are you doing here?"
9) We moved the fatboy into Davis' room- I don't know why we waited to do that- he loves it.
10) I am starting to get spring fever.
That's all for now.
