1) The fact that Davis came home yesterday in a mesh powder blue tank top, with a bow on the neck. He keeps getting his shirt wet at school and I guess they ran out of his extra clothes, so they had to borrow from the lost and found. The best part was that he absolutely loved the shirt. He kept saying "I have a TANK TOP on. It has a bow on it." I get his intrigue- it was a definite departure as we don't normally dress him in tank tops, and it was incredibly soft. Bennett said he had a hard time getting him to take it off this morning. Ha.
2) Being engaged in interesting things at work. We have another big meeting Friday that I'm excited about. I hope it goes well. It's really nice when something you are pretty invested in pays off. It's new business- so it could be exciting.
3) That Holden said both "ma-ma" and "da-da" yesterday. Of course she won't do it again- or on cue- but when I got home, I went to the bathroom right away (long drive in the rain and traffic) and I heard her saying "ma-ma...ma-ma" and then, like a little stinker, when I asked her to repeat it, she looked right at me and said "Da. Da."
4) That I don't have to go anywhere tonight. Last night it took me over an hour to get home in the rain (come on Texans, it's just water) and then I was there for about 20 minutes before my workout with Ahmad.
5) That my last measuring/weigh-in session with Ahmad (last Saturday) was successful. Down on all measurements, but two. :)
6) That I just booked our tickets to New York!
7) That we're having a sprinkle and 30th birthday party for Kirsten tomorrow at Olive & June.
8) Snap kitchen, and it's proximity to my office.
9) Bennett helping me out a lot this week since it's super busy for me.
10) Passing the time driving home last night by talking to my grandparents. So fun!
Ciao. Have a happy Wednesday.

Depression
I am in a deep, deep depression. I'm serious. Yesterday, my worst nightmare appears to have happened. My hard drive crashed. 7 years of work content, hundreds, maybe thousands of family pictures, not to mention all the other things I can't even remember putting on my HD. GONE.
DON'T ASK ME IF I BACKED IT UP.
I know I should have backed all of it up. I just didn't have the time. And I have said (even in the last month) so many times "We HAVE to back this stuff up..."
I can't talk about it. Honestly, I can't even think about it. It makes me feel like throwing up. It breaks my heart, just to think about it.
One of the IT guys at work is out this week- but they tell me he will look at it Friday- so I have decided I will not think about it until then. Except that, I would like to ask that you all send a prayer up to God in heaven, who cares about things as major as tsunamis and world hunger and as small as hurt feelings and fried hard drives, that my HD will be restored. At least enough to get my photos.
Please and thank you.
And please don't ask me about it. I seriously cannot face it right now.

Packing my Bags
So yes, one of my goals for 2013 is/was to travel more. And I'm excited to say that I already have three trips planned for the first part of the year. First, I am accompanying Bennett on his work bonus trip to San Diego. Bennett did so well this year at work- they closed so many deals- and when they hit a certain goal, they get to bring their spouses on a trip in January or February. Usually they go to Scottsdale, and it's okay, but I feel like once you've been to Scottsdale, you don't really need to go back. And maybe you really don't need to go back with co-workers.
I went the first year with Bennett, but had to fly there late because I was SO sick. So it wasn't so great. Then last year, I had a 3 week old baby, so poor Bennett had to go solo. This year, I get to go, and we are going to San Diego and staying at the Hotel Del Coronado. EEK! We talked about getting married there- it's so fancy. So, I'm really excited.
Next, while we're not going very far, I'm still very excited that Katie and I are going to spend a weekend in San Antonio at the Westin La Cantera. We haven't spent time alone (that sounds creepy, but you know what I mean) in so long! Did I mention she is back from Ohio? For good. I'm so thankful...and I also can't wait to go see their new place.
And then finally, the Moore girls are going on a trip to New York! New York, New York, a city so nice they named it twice. I cannot wait.
I hope I can do as well on the rest of my goals! 2013. Yes.

Some Girls Are Pretty
I love how Davis has gotten to such a conversational point these days. I love our talks on the way home from school. Yesterday, we were talking about what he did at school, and he always responds with "Played." I prod some more and ask who he played with and he usually says "Alexander."
Last night, after going through this routine, it was quiet for about 3 minutes until Davis said: "Some girls are pretty, momma."
I've never heard him say this before. So I smiled and said "They are? Which girls are pretty?" He grinned and said "Kamille."
Kamille is this little brown haired, brown eyed girl in his class, and she is actually a daughter of one of my co-workers. Bennett and I have noticed how outgoing she is and how all the other little girls sort of follow her around like little ducks. She must have some sort of magnetism. :) I just can't believe that Davis has his first crush and that he articulated it so well.
Melt my heart.
And oh how he loves his blue blanket. Last night was the first night he has woken up crying in the middle of the night and actually gotten up and walked down the hall. I awoke to a sobbing little guy saying "I need my blue blanket...I need my blue blanket..." as it had fallen down the side of his bed.
I can't sleep lately. Not sure why- but man is it frustrating.

Christmas via Phone Cam
I seem to have misplaced my camera- please DEAR JESUS don't let it be lost in the garbage with all the discarded christmas packages! In the meantime, here are some shots from my phone.
My birthday present from Bennett!
Holy cow, good pick, and what a treat!
The Bennett 4 on Christmas Eve.
I know this is an awkward shot, but I wanted to get the full head to toe- so you could see the Stuart Weitzmans in action. She looked like a little doll. And her hair is kind of red.
Holden and her daddy.
Sweet Davis- climbing around during church. Thank goodness it was family church. Oh also, I got reprimanded by a lady for taking a cookie for Davis, from the hundreds of cookie plates laid out for after the service. Every church has a bossy church lady, I guess.
He got to open just one present on Christmas Eve.
A note and some cookies and milk for Santa.
"Share a cookie with Frosty..."
"Share a cookie with Frosty..."
It was so fun being Santa with Bennett this year.
Presents from Santa. Holden was the pink polka dots, Davis green.
Look at those cheeks!
Just snuggling while watching Toy Story.
Davis loves to hug and hold Holden like this.
She likes it for about 10 seconds.

Good Pins
My top favorite best winner pins lately...
This light is from Red, of course!
This is amazing. Right? I love the indigo blue leather paired with the sparkle.
Business in the front, party in the back.
Real canned lights.
I want this, I love this, I need this. They are sold out. :(
I could probably take over the world in these shoes.
Happy New Year
Well, it's officially 2013. I've flipped my cute calendar, I've made my list of resolutions, and I welcomed in the new year not once, but twice (thank you DVR)! And tomorrow, I plan to start the day just thankful to be alive- thankful for all the gifts God has given me. Invigorated by the fresh start that comes not just with the first of the year, but with each day we are given. I feel great about 2013. It's going to be an exciting year.
Anyway.
Tonight, after snuggling with Davis as I put him to bed, I could hear him crying in his bedroom, shouting "Mommy. I need some milk. Really." So I went back in there, brought him some milk, gave him a hug and said good night. "Mommy, I want you to snuggle me," he said. "Davis, we already snuggled, it's time for bed now."
He started to get really upset and loudly said "Mommy. I need you to because- I need you to because-" (and he rarely understands that "because" is meant to be followed by a reason- so I expected him to just end there...) and then he just laid it all out there: "Mommy. I need you to snuggle me because you're my LOVEY BUG."
So of course, I snuggled with him some more. He is so sweet these days. He hugs me all the time. He'll rub my arm or back and say "Momma. I love you momma." or "Mommy- I really like your car/shirt/necklace" whatever he happens to be looking at.
And Holden's new trick is clapping. She claps all the time...I say "Yaaay!" and she looks around so quickly like "What are we clapping for?" and then claps. She has started to giggle more, which is fun, and she is eating table foods- at least things like crackers and puffs, etc. She is a good eater, unlike her brother. And I think she has become a better napper since her tubes. Yahoo.
She starts at Davis' school the first week of February. I hope that is the right decision. Jennifer has been great- but we always knew we would transition her to Child's Day as she got older. Okay, it's a little earlier than I would like to do it, but she will only go three days a week- then Honey has her on Thursday and I will have her on Friday.
I just don't want to lose her spot in the program- I think she will like to play- and I need more coverage for the occasional meetings I have to call in for, or attend, on Fridays...
And we stopped by last week to meet her teacher and see her little room- I actually feel so great about that. The teacher has been there several years, she's about 50, and she seemed so sweet and loving- just perfect for little bitties. I'm more nervous about getting them up and ready, packing them up, driving through traffic, dropping them both off in different rooms, and then getting to work on time.
So that's that. Back to work tomorrow.
I will do Christmas posts with pictures this week.
